Expensify alternatives: expense tools by how your team spends
You have
Expensify
Expense management by Expensify. Built for small teams (Collect plan) to growing companies needing approvals and ERP integrations (Control plan).
Common reasons to look elsewhere
- The lower Control price requires using the Expensify Card for at least half of settled US spend (Expensify help centre).
- Multi-step approvals, company-card management and NetSuite or Sage Intacct connections sit on Control, not Collect.
- Companies that want the card programme to drive receipts and policy may prefer card-first platforms.
Consider
- RampCard-first, receipts matched automatically
- BrexMulti-entity and international teams
- NavanTravel is the main expense
- Zoho ExpenseSmall teams on a budget
- SAP Concur ExpenseComplex policies and existing travel agencies
- BILL Spend & ExpenseAlready using BILL for payables
Short answer. If you want corporate cards that collect receipts automatically, look at Ramp (US) or Brex (multi-entity and global). If travel is most of your spend, Navan. Small teams that just need receipt scanning and mileage at low cost should try Zoho Expense. Large organisations with complex policy rules compare SAP Concur, and BILL customers can add BILL Spend & Expense.
The replacements, with the trade-off
Card-first, receipts matched automatically
Ramp
Why switch to it
Ramp’s free tier includes corporate cards, automatic receipt collection and matching from email, SMS and Slack, and travel policies, with stricter controls on paid tiers.
What you give up
The card needs a US-registered corporation or LLC with at least $75,000 in a US business bank account.
Multi-entity and international teams
Brex
Why switch to it
Brex combines cards, reimbursements and travel with entity-level setup and broad card acceptance abroad, so it fits companies operating in several countries.
What you give up
Multi-entity setup needs higher tiers; unlimited global entities are on the quote-priced Enterprise plan.
Small teams on a budget
Zoho Expense
Why switch to it
Zoho Expense has a free plan for up to three users with monthly receipt autoscans, and low per-user paid tiers with mileage tracking.
What you give up
Corporate cards, multi-level approvals and travel need paid tiers; free autoscans are capped per month.
Complex policies and existing travel agencies
SAP Concur Expense
Why switch to it
Concur Expense supports configurable policy and approval hierarchies, integrates with existing travel management companies and lists 200+ integrations.
What you give up
Configuration-heavy and quote-priced; more system than a small team needs.
Already using BILL for payables
BILL Spend & Expense
Why switch to it
BILL Spend & Expense adds cards and reimbursements that sync with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero and Sage Intacct, next to BILL’s AP.
What you give up
Most compelling if you also use BILL AP.

Card-first or report-first?
Expensify started as a receipt-and-report tool and added a card. Most alternatives start from the card: if employees spend on company cards, receipts are matched to transactions and there is little to reimburse. If most spend is still personal cards and mileage, a report-first tool like Zoho Expense or Concur fits better.
| Spend pattern | Look first at |
|---|---|
| Company cards, US entity | Ramp |
| Company cards, several countries | Brex |
| Mostly travel | Navan |
| Personal cards and mileage, small team | Zoho Expense |
| Strict, varied policy rules | SAP Concur |
| Already on BILL | BILL Spend & Expense |
Before you switch
Close open reports and pay outstanding reimbursements in Expensify first. Recreate expense categories and GL mappings in the new tool to match your ledger, and keep an export of historical reports for audit.
